Well, I am about 3 weeks post surgery and I am doing pretty well. That is what everybody says. I am actually walking a bit using the useless (for now) 4th leg! I did have a minor setback a couple weeks in, however. I enjoy chewing my bandage. Apparently I am not supposed to, though. I’ve had to return to the clinic to be refitted for a new one a couple of times. For whatever reason, when I chew the bandage, I get sores on my leg. I just don’t get that. How can chewing the bandage cause sores on my leg? Who knows? Something about moisture or something. I usually tune the doc out when I’m there. They have this huge container full of Milk Bones. Anyway, to help me not to chew the bandage, the doc gave Mommy and Pappy this plastic thingy to put around my head. I think they call it a cone. I mean it’s completely around my head! This little gizmo is supposed to keep my long snout off of my bandaged leg. It didn’t work. At least, not at first. Notice the extra layer added. Now it works. At least they did train me well enough so I don’t fight when getting this thing put on! But now to answer the question in the title of my Blog. I don’t think the two really go together except when it’s time to put this apparatus over my head. Pappy doesn’t just say, “Ok, Rolf. Let’s get this thingy on.” No! For whatever reason, Pappy has to say, “Cone-On- O-BRI-en!” Not sure what that is all about but he is quite animated when he says it! I guess he thinks I like it but I just sort of go with it. He’s doing his best. I will check back soon! Give my Pappy (Joey) a call or fill out the info sheet on this website so he can get with you to train you dog or puppy! Rolf the Doberman
